AESTHETIC - LASER - SKIN - WELLNESS CLINIC

Anti-Wrinkle injections (commonly known as Botox® Injections) are the most effective treatment for smoothing out ‘dynamic wrinkles’ (lines which appear when you frown, smile or laugh). Common areas treated are between the brows, across the forehead and at the corners of the eyes.

The treatment temporarily relaxes the muscles to give you a fresher, brighter and more relaxed appearance. Wrinkles become smoother and often disappear altogether. Wrinkle relaxing injections are also an excellent treatment for excessive sweating.

Our Specialist has vast experience in administering Botox® injections and achieves fantastic, natural looking results.

Small quantities of Botulinum toxin (Botox®) are injected into selected muscles using an ultra-fine needle. This immobilises the muscles and stops them from contracting, while untreated facial muscles continue to contract in the normal way so that facial expressions are unaffected.

The aim is to soften dynamic lines and wrinkles to refresh and rejuvenate the face.

Botox may be used alongside other technologies to treat the following conditions:

Frown lines (also called glabellar lines) are vertical lines that appear between the eyebrows. They can appear over time from the effects of age, sun exposure or habitual frowning. As we age, our skin becomes less elastic and these lines may become more pronounced or persist giving the impression that one is frowning or stressed. The frown lines appear softened giving you a fresher and more rested appearance.

Forehead lines are created when our muscles in the forehead (frontalis muscle) contract as we lift our eyebrows. Static lines are created resulting in horizontal lines across the forehead. Wrinkle relaxing injections can help smooth out these lines, helping to create a softer more refreshed look and are one of the most common reasons people request treatment.

Crow’s feet are fine lines that appear at the corners of the eyes, while smiling, laughing, and sometimes when the face is relaxed. One of the main causes is sun exposure, causing premature skin ageing. The muscle surrounding the eye (orbicularis oculi) is treated with Botox. Treating this area has the benefit of tightening the skin of the eyelid and giving a slight lift to your eyebrow.

Bunny lines are the horizontal wrinkles that form across the bridge of the nose. Bunny lines tend to form naturally as an effect of years of smiling or frowning.

Nefertiti Neck Lift as it is called, tightens and refines the neck and jaw line for an elegant and more youthful look without any downtime.

Excessive sweating (also known as Hyperhidrosis) is a condition in which a person sweats excessively under their armpits, palms of hands, soles of feet and forehead.

Feeling really pampered after having my Oxygen treatment today! And after 3-4 months of using the Circadia products recommended to me, my acne outbreaks have near enough diminished! I’ll be going back next month for my next treatment! Really lovely and welcoming staff too.

Frequently asked questions

Botox®

  1. Does the treatment hurt?

While any treatment involving injections will provide a certain level of discomfort, the needles used for Botox treatments are ultra-fine and so the pain is usually minimal.

  2. How long does Botox® last?

You may need to repeat treatment approximately every 3-4 months over a 12-month period to maintain your fresh and natural appearance. Clinical trials report that some patients who’ve had treatment over 12 months only need further treatments once or twice the following year. It normally takes 5-7 days for Botox® treatments to take effect.

  3. Is there any downtime?

Treatment The treatment usually takes around 20 minutes. If there’s a little bruising, you can easily camouflage it with makeup. There is no downtime and you can resume normal activities right away. We advise our patients to stay upright for 4 hours and no exercise for 48 hours, to avoid the injectable from ‘drifting’.

  4. Is Botox® safe?

Botox® has an excellent safety profile with over 2.5 million users to date across Europe. The doses are very small and the risks are minimal. If any do occur, they are temporary and just mild. Botox® injections are performed by our Specialist.
